LIFE-STEP™ Professional – Healthcare Workforce Readiness is a 15-hour, non-clinical course for adults preparing for healthcare and home healthcare training or employment. Build the professional and digital skills employers value, at no cost to eligible participants.

Tech 4 All Tennessee has been awarded funding through the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development's Rural Works Healthcare Initiatives program to expand healthcare workforce-readiness training across 11 East Tennessee counties.
The initiative is expected to serve approximately 240 participants in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Cocke, Cumberland, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Sevier, and Union counties between July 2026 and June 2027.
Success will depend on strong regional partnerships with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology, Local Workforce Development Boards, American Job Centers, healthcare employers and community organizations. Partners can help refer participants, identify workforce needs, host training and connect graduates with employment opportunities.
Build confidence with workplace technology, professional habits, safer handling of patient information and personal finances.
Dependability, professionalism, communication and time management. Critical thinking and the ladder of inference.
Workplace behaviors employers value, practiced through healthcare scenarios. Conflict, priorities and SMART goals.
Windows 11, email and online forms; Microsoft 365 and an introduction to Copilot. Electronic visit verification (EVV), documentation and telehealth.
Passwords, phishing, HIPAA and privacy awareness, and responsible AI use. Tech skills assessment, budgets, pay stubs, job offers, credit, scams and integrity with money.
Healthcare-ready résumé, elevator pitch, LinkedIn and interview practice, including video. Post-survey, next steps and graduation.
For adults interested in healthcare or home healthcare work who live in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Cocke, Cumberland, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Sevier or Union County.

Live, instructor-led classes of 10–20, scheduled around your organization: mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends. Meet at your site or in the community, combine in-person and live online modules, or use some virtual sessions when schedules require.
Qualified partner staff who complete T4AT trainer preparation can teach using the facilitator guide, approved materials and T4AT completion requirements.
Facilitator guide for trained trainers, slides for every module, participant activities, pre- and post-surveys, tech skills assessment, course outline and certificate of completion. Graduates take home a refurbished Windows 11 laptop after completing all 15 hours and required forms.
